Urgent Appointments

For urgent appointments, please call to advise us that the referral is urgent and request for the patient to be seen within a specified time frame. Dr Ong is happy to organise a priority appointment to facilitate this.

Dr Ong can arrange direct access colonoscopy at one of the private hospitals. He will conduct your initial consult and colonoscopy on the same day.

Direct access colonoscopy is only available for patients with private health insurance.

Who is suitable for a direct access colonoscopy?

• If you have been referred for a positive faecal occult blood test (FOBT), a surveillance colonoscopy, or a family history of bowel cancer, you may be suitable for a direct access colonoscopy.

• Your referring doctor may indicate if you are suitable for a direct access colonoscopy.
  

What do you need to do?

1. Email or fax your referral across to the office.
2. Dr Ong will review your referral and advise if you are suitable for a direct access colonoscopy.
3. One of our friendly staff members will then contact you to arrange a suitable date and provide you the necessary information.
